1. MAAP-PEAL

Last Saturday, August 11, 2012, it was a very long day for me and my friends from Villamor. Our day started pretty early to get ready for a trip to visit our friend, John, at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific for visitation day. Everyone’s a bit excited ‘cause after 2 months we’ll get to see him again.

Together with Mariel, Tina, Lou and John’s family, we left Villamor Air Base and headed to Mariveles, Bataan. We arrived a bitlate for the open house but then it was ok, at least we get to be with John for a while.

Since we were late, the “orientation” for the parents had already started and it was in this hall (ground floor of John’s Barracks).

This is the 2nd floor of their Barracks, though no one’s occupying this floor.Barracks

Before bonding with our cadet, me and the girls had our “blogger” moments and went around MAAP to takes some shots. And I have to say, MAAP kinda reminds me of PMA. How I wish I could go there again soon.

Here are some of our “blogger” pose :)

    near the “simulator”

and of course we have our solo “blogger” shots so here’s mine :)

We went around MAAP for more than an hour. Afterwards, the orientation was finished, so we had to help out set up our picnic behind the grandstand. We had 3 mats laid over the grass where we could sit, eat and rest. There we waited for John as we played with his guitar that we brought with us from Villamor.

[As you all know John’s one of the best guitar players I’ve known. We used to go to his house and listen as he played different songs with his instrument and Sungha Jung is one of his idol]

After a few minutes, John finally arrived at our picnic area.

Of course Tita Jel baked his favorite BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE so we all grabbed our own spoons/forks and ate the cake all together, while we make John play his guitar.

John toured us around their campus even though we already went around earlier. We walked and walked and took photos together as our remembrance. Actually we went our MAAP four times, the third time was the time I finally shared something important with him.

[Just a short description of what it was about, last time John went home from MAAP he had some questions about happenings within our group of friends that I wasn’t able to answer. And during the visitation day, I thought that may be it was a good time to tell him. And I’m glad that I did, even though I felt that he didn’t take it in a good way]

At that time too, we met his “squadmate” Joaquin and his girlfriend. John introduces us four (me, Mariel, Tina and Lou) as his girlfriend”S” but then Joaquin insisted that they’re better since they are already on their 5TH YEAR as a couple. Now that made me jealous.

At our picnic area, we bonded big time like we were at Villamor again. We sang songs that we all used to sing together like “Terrified” “Go” “She will be loved” and more. All, of course, were played by John with his guitar. We also played PINOY Henyo, where I seriously had fail moments. Played Truth or Dare too. The highlight of that game is when we dared Tina to call Tam and say “I’m a midship woman of Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific” (I’m not so sure with that tho). However, that time Tam’s phone wasn’t available so we had to wait ‘til we could call him again.

One of the things I’ll never forget that day is the scenes of John and Ysha (his younger sister). Ysha’s just too cute for me to handle. Seeing them together will just make you jealous and wish you have a younger sibling too (that goes for me, since I’m the youngest :| )

So many things happened within that day in MAAP. A lot of realizations occurred on me. We really have this thing among us that will never be taken away. And that is our friendship. No matter how far one is, we will always be here to support and cheer for each other. To think we just started being all close last year, it’s like we’ve been like this all our lives (well after for them, they were together since birth).

Also seeing John’s family with him again is so heartwarming. Eliana (John’s sister) got teary-eyed when she hugged John but then denies that she misses him. (and I find that cute)

I’m pretty sure John was happy to see us (kapal moment) And we all miss our bonding times together back in Villamor.

Looking forward for October 20 now, since John will be coming home for sembreak :) another adventure will surely come for us.

  2. Before this day ends :)

Yesterday, there was no electricity for a while here in villamor. It was due to the intense rain and wind brought by Gener. So me and my friend Lou went to Resorts World Manila to meet up with Twin (Tina) :)

Went to our happy place (Serenitea) ordered my usual (large okinawa 50% pearls) and also pepper corn :)

Its been a long time since the last time I’ve been in RW to think that I live 10mins away from it :| such a busy ass in school that I no longer have time to go there :))

Happy tho that even for a short time I was able to go around again with some friends.

Will try to blog about PhilDemocracy tomorrow :)

  3. Anthems and Destinations…
Honestly I didn’t bother myself to search what this concert’s all about. I can just remember what our prof said…”Choir yan, kakanta sila ng mga songs from Philippines and other countries” to be frank, I thought it would be a boring show since I’m not really into choir concerts, never appreciated them that much expect for Madrigal Singers.
I was thinking of ditching it, but based from my friends’ (who watched the early show) reaction I’m intrigued. They said it was boring at first but then as the show goes on they perform familiar songs like “under the sea” “jai ho” and others.
I wanted to go after hearing those words. Sadly, the rain didn’t stop pouring since last night. That made my parents decide not to let me go to avoid accidents. Even though I really wanted to see the show, I followed my parents, ‘cause that’s what’s important to me right now, them.
So I guess I’ll settle with the idea of not ever seeing the show. I’ll be forever curious of how others would say its boring and interesting at the same time. All I could think of is that I was still able to support the show through buying a this ticket :)

  4. The sound of the rain from my room…
Its been like this since yesterday. The rain kept pouring hard and making noise with the roof.
I don’t know why but it relaxes me. The sound of the rain calms me down and let me be at ease. How I wish it’s like this everyday.

  5. The gift I made for my twin :)

My twin, Tina Parra, and I share the same birthday, tho we’re not really biological twins. I’m older in terms of hours…

Even tho we’re not really twins, we shared a lot of common interests. And that we feel like we’ve known each other since birth.

The gift is a simple necklace. I figured it would be nice to make one for her since she loves accessories, unlike me :)) with the help of my friend, Alexa, I came up with this design. And no, its not heavy! Its just the right weight for your necks :)
so if ever you guys want of lemme know! I could make one for you for a very cheap price :)

  6. Celebrated my birthday in the simplest way this year :)

went to Laguna and Intramuros with my blockmates for our fieldtrip for KASPIL 1… it wasn’t that good at first ‘cause i had some girl troubles that time, but my blockmates really made an effort to make me feel special that day. They bought me a cake from starbucks during our stopover. It was such a sweet gesture especially knowing Trish was the one who came up with the idea…

One person also made my day complete, my Friend Charis from elementary days. I missed her and its the first time in 5years that i was able to see her on my birthday :)

At home, i didn’t bother asking my parents to go out anymore, i was too tired from our trip and so i just went to my twin’s house for a while to greet her too :) afterwards, my parents bought pizzas and we just chilled in our house..

simple yet so memorable birthday. extremely grateful to everyone ♥
